“Starting BYT when I was 10 years old, and leaving when I was 18 really helped with everything throughout my teenage years. My time at BYT gave me so many opportunities including being in well known operas such as Carmen and Turandot, and even in the London production of “Annie”. Aside from the performing elements at BYT, it also gave me so much confidence even when I wasn’t on the stage. I made friends, and built great relationships with students and teachers along the way. BYT has kept its happy, friendly and fun energy throughout the years I watched it grow, and I am sure any child who would like to join will experience the same great journey I did ”

“My first performance as part of the BYT left me with such an adrenaline rush that I knew for certain that I wanted to perform for a living. I have since taken skills learnt from the staff and adapted them to help me in my university experience. My confidence has grown massively in the past four years and I have made some amazing friends who kept me laughing constantly. The opportunities that Mike has created gave me the chance to perform alongside stars from strictly come dancing, perform on stages where many famous faces have also performed and get an idea of the workings of a show. BYT was a brilliant time in my life and I will always be grateful for the chances and opportunities offered to me.”

“BYT enabled me to have some of the best experiences of my life. I’ve always said that there’s no greater feeling than performing on a stage to an audience. BYT enabled me to do that. Many of us came to BYT from Stagecoach, and we met new friends and built on our experiences with the help of the amazing teachers, and before we knew it we were in theatres performing great routines. BYT greatly helped with my confidence and I’m very grateful that I was part of it for those years, as they were truly some of the best moments I’ve experienced”.
BYT student between 2000 & 2009

“I absolutely loved BYT, it used to be the highlight of my week! There was no better way to spend my Saturdays than singing and dancing with my friends. BYT gave me so many opportunities, and I performed in productions I never would have had the chance to otherwise. It helped me grow in confidence and explore my full potential, and for that I will always be grateful”.
